Our church, as a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA), is led by ruling elders who are called by God and elected to serve three year terms on the Session (which is basically a Presbyterian term which refers to a governing board).
The Session is responsible for the mission and government of the church of Jesus Christ in this place. Fifteen elders called by God and elected through the voice of the congregation gather monthly to pray for the church’s ministries, members, and friends.

The Session divides its work into five basic committees, each of which is tasked with the day-to-day details of the ministries which they lead.
ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE The mission of the Administration Committee is to provide for efficient administration of the church office, keep church insurance policies up to date, and to oversee the Personnel, Budget and Finance, and Buildings and Grounds needs of our church.
2017 Administration Committee Moderator: Frosty Aust
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION COMMITTEE The mission of the Christian Education Committee is to provide Christian nurture for the entire congregation. Christian Education is the work of instructing and guiding believers and their children in Christian faith and life. This work includes providing an on-going Sunday School program for all ages, including Extended Session for children during Worship, an Annual Vacation Bible School, Wednesday Night Dinner Celebrations, and more. The Christian Education Committee also administers our church-wide Safe Place Policy.
2017 Christian Education Committee Moderator: Susan Cain
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE The mission of the Membership Committee is: To seek and encourage ways for the members of the congregation to actively participate in the life of the church. To nurture and minister the families of the congregation and also provide fellowship activities for all members of the church (Presbyterian Women, men, youth, and children). To lead the members of St. Giles into closer fellowship as a congregation and help foster an atmosphere of openness, joy, and friendship in Christ. To provide opportunities for the congregation to participate in fitness and athletic programs.
2017 Membership Committee Moderator: Randy Reinke
WITNESS AND MISSION COMMITTEE The mission of the Witness and Mission Committee is to “present the claims of Jesus Christ, leading persons to repentance, acceptance of Him as Savior and Lord, and new life as disciples and to . . . participate in God’s activity in the world through the church’s life for others by ministering to the needs of the poor, the sick, the lonely, and powerless” (G-3.0300, 2000 Book of Order). It shall seek to reflect the mission of the Church and to enable the congregation to extend the Gospel of God’s love and compassion in Jesus Christ into this community and into the world.
2017 Witness + Mission Committee Moderator: Giovanni Luccia
WORSHIP COMMITTEE The mission of the Worship Committee is to provide for the “maintenance of divine worship” (F-1.0304 Book of Order) and to ensure the proclamation of the gospel through the administration of the Word and Sacrament. It shall seek to see that the congregation is captivated by a definition of worship which understands this most basic Christian act as a privilege and a duty: The central event in the life of the church. So defined, the intent of worship is “to quicken the conscience by the holiness of God, to feed the mind with the truth of God, to purge the imagination by the beauty of God, to open the heart to the love of God, and to devote the will to the purpose of God.”
2017 Worship Committee Moderator: Bobby Dobson
