What Should I Expect in Worship?

What Should I Wear?

There is no dress code for worship at St. Giles! Some men wear suits/jackets with ties, while others where polo shirts and khakis. Some women wear dresses/skirts, while others wear casual slacks. Dress comfortably, and know that you are welcome here.

Will my Children be Welcomed?

St. Giles loves the energy and joy of children in our midst! Children are always welcome to join us in worship, but there are several other age appropriate opportunities available, also:

  • Nursery:  Our nursery is available every Sunday morning from 9:00am until 12:00pm, staffed with trained adults for the care and safety of infants, toddlers, and twos. The nursery is also available (by request) for special events such as church dinners. The nursery is located in the preschool building.
  • Extended Session:  Children ages 3-5 are dismissed to the preschool building for age-appropriate nurture and education following the “Word for Children.” Children ages 6 and older will stay with their families for the remainder of worship.
  • Worship Bags: Worship Bags containing age-appropriate activities for children ages 6-10 are available in the lobby prior to the service. Please ask one of the ushers if you need help finding them.

Are There Any Educational Opportunities?

Sunday School classes for all ages begin at 9:15am most Sunday mornings (September-May). During the summer months, St. Giles offers special summer formational series for adults. If you have questions or would like more information about our classes, contact Rev. TJ Remaley.

What Do Presbyterians Believe?

“In gratitude to God, empowered by the Spirit, we strive to serve Christ in our daily tasks and to live holy and joyful lives, even as we watch for God’s new heaven and new earth praying, ‘Come, Lord Jesus.'” – From A Brief Statement of Faith.
