The Witness & Mission committee of St. Giles sponsors a variety of mission and service ministries providing outreach to children and youth both locally and nationally.
If you have questions or would like to learn more about how you can participate in these ministries, please contact Rev. TJ Remaley (Associate Pastor for Family Ministry & Discipleship) or anyone who serves on the Witness & Mission committee.
Through our chartered scouting troops, St. Giles promotes the development of young men in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. We support our local scouts through the use of our campus, support on Scout Sunday, and by encouraging our participating youth.
Camp Buc is the outdoor ministry of Foothills Presbytery. The camp offers people of all ages a welcome respite from the busyness of everyday life… a place for children, youth, and adults to learn about God, about themselves, and about each other while enjoying the beauty of God’s great creation. Camp Buc hosts picnics and youth retreats, and of course, offers wonderful summer camps for children ages K4-12th grades. St. Giles is grateful for this important ministry. For more information, visit the Camp Buc website at www.campbuc.org
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. Girl Scouts is the preeminent girl leadership program in the world. St. Giles supports all Girl Scouts by providing meeting space, support on Scout Sunday, and specifically for the girls of our church. All girls are encouraged to join scouting – it combines friends, fun, community service, adventures in the wilderness and cities, leadership development, and so much more! For more information, visit the Girl Scout website at www.gssc-mm.org
Each Advent season our church family adopts more than 60 children and their siblings who attend Hollis Academy in Greenville. Their families face great financial needs through the year and the school’s social worker selects special angels with whom we share the joy of Christmas giving. The program is a mission project for our Presbyterian Women of the Church, but the opportunity to provide gifts that meet special needs, and bring smiles to kids, is shared with the entire congregation.
