MISSIONS: DISASTER RELIEF

The Witness & Mission committee of St. Giles sponsors a variety of mission and service ministries supporting disaster relief efforts both locally and nationally.

If you have questions or would like to learn more about how you can participate in these ministries, please contact Rev. TJ Remaley (Associate Pastor for Family Ministry & Discipleship) or anyone who serves on the Witness & Mission committee.

mission_disaster Disaster Team Lodging
Shortly after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita decimated the Gulf Coast in 2005, mission teams of from throughout the country began making the LONG trip down I-85 to I-65 and finally I-10 along the Mississippi coast. For many groups, this was more driving than could be accomplished in a day. St. Giles has housed numerous teams from Virginia and New Jersey as they have traveled back and forth to the Gulf to share Christ’s love. This quiet ministry has made a huge difference for other Christians traveling.
mission_police Police Crisis Response
St. Giles strongly supports efforts of local law enforcement agencies as they seek to protect our community. As such, we provide a sacred place for prayer and reflection for police officers and other first responders to following particularly traumatic events. This small act pushes us further toward our vision for St. Giles to be a sacred refuge for our community.
