Foster Care at Thornwell – The Need is Great
Last year, there were over 4,700 children in Foster Care in South Carolina—over 2,000 in the Upstate.
There are more foster children in the system than there are foster homes. These are children that face
growing up without the love of a stable home and the support of a local community. If you feel a tug at
your heart to find out more, please attend this meeting!
FOSTER CARE INTEREST MEETING: Sunday, June 23rd at 5:00pm
Location: Fourth Presbyterian Church (703 E Washington St, Greenville, SC 29601)
More Information: Jon Sampson at 864-735-8509, or Jonathon.firstname.lastname@example.org
Thornwell has been helping children and families since 1875 and continues its long history throughout
South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. Thornwell provides safe and loving homes for children in need,

Witness & Mission Committee is excited to announce that we will be having a Rise Against Hunger event on June 2nd! Please stay after church to pack 10,000 meals for hungry people. A light lunch will be served in the gym, and then we will package meals in the fellowship hall. Please consider contributing to this worthwhile event. Each meal costs $0.35, much less than a cup of coffee! Childcare will be provided for younger children; older children are welcome to participate. To sign up please click here.
Join us on Sunday, January 27, for our annual Thornwell Sunday! Rev. Elliot Smith, President of Thornwell Home for Children, will lead a special presentation that morning (Adult classes will meet in the Fellowship Hall; classes for children and youth will be in their classrooms, as usual). Rev. Smith will also be the guest preacher in our worship service. Join us as we learn about and celebrate the ministries of Thornwell!
Please join the Women’s Fellowship and Bible Study in “Sharing the Warmth” with Greer Community Ministries. Items will be collected now through January 8.
