As our Sunday School year comes to a close, we look forward to the start of our summer educational series for adults. Here's a look at our schedule.
Unity, Reconciliation, & Justice in the Confession of Belhar
Sundays June 4, 11, 18, and 25 - 9:15am - room E101-103, Taylor Ed. Bldg
What does it mean to be a “confessing church?” What is the Belhar Confession,
anyway? What can our Book of Confessions— particularly Belhar—teach us about
unity, reconciliation, and justice? We will answer these questions and more as we
thoughtfully engage with the words of our newest confessional statement, adopted
by the PC(USA)’s 222nd General Assembly one year ago.
Exploring the Theology of The Shack
Sundays July 9, 16, 23, and 30 - 9:15am - room E101-103, Taylor Ed. Bldg
The Shack, written by author William P. Young, first gained incredible fame as a
novel published in 2007. Now, it has become a hit on the silver screen, too. Our July
series explores The Shack, as well as theological truths found in its storyline. (Prior
experience with the book/movie are not required to participate in this study!)
Conversations about Discipleship
Sundays August 6, 13, 20, and 27 - 9:15am - room E101-103, Taylor Ed. Bldg
“Stewardship” broadly describes our efforts to live out Christian faith day-byday,
where the rubber hits the road. Building off the recent reflections of a study
group here at St. Giles, join us for a conversational journey designed to help us
grow and think more deeply about Christian discipleship.
