St. Giles Presbyterian Church

St. Giles is an active member congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the Foothills Presbytery. Read THIS to learn more about what we believe.

We are a medium-sized church filled with families and people of all ages and interests.

We are a mission-minded congregation with both local and international partnerships, financial and hands-on projects.

We are led by a Session of 10 Elders, serving in 2 classes of 5 members for 2 years.

Adam Fischer

Adam Fischer, Co-Pastor

Adam began serving as Co-Pastor at St. Giles in June 2020. He and his wife, Meg, moved here from Long Island where they served separate congregations. He is thrilled to be her partner in marriage and ministry. Adam loves to play board games! He is also a maker -- of fabric and textiles projects, with words, stones, or any scraps and parts. Adam prefers hot tea to coffee, wears bow ties, and cries during movies.

Wanda Allison, Church Administrator

Wanda has been faithfully serving our church for over 25 years. The church could not run without her. You can find her in the office every week with a smile on her face ready to help with anything you might need!

Celeste Webb, Financial Administrator

Celeste handles the church's financial bookkeeping. Before transitioning into accounting, Celeste founded and operated her own real estate brokerage, Realty-Advisors Carolina, for 20+ years. She lives in the surrounding neighborhood with her husband. Her children attend Auburn.

Mary Margaret Flannagan, Co-Pastor

Meg began serving as Co-Pastor at St. Giles in June 2020. She and her husband, Adam, moved here from Long Island where they served separate congregations. She is thrilled to be his partner in marriage and ministry. When not at church, they love to play board games. Meg also enjoys hiking, creative pursuits (most recently in glasswork), and eating good food.

Elliott Smith, Music Director

Dr. Elliott Smith began his tenure at St. Giles in April of 2021. He is thrilled at the enormous possibilities within this faith community and is working to cultivate and further develop the children’s, chancel, and handbell choir. He holds degrees from Furman University, the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and the University of Notre Dame. Outside of St. Giles, Elliott loves exploring the Greenville art scene with his family.

Debbie Stenzel, Preschool Director

Debbie handles the day-to-day business of the Preschool. She is originally from Pennsylvania, but has been at St. Giles for 22 years.  Her first position was teaching the 2 year old class. Subsequently, she taught the 3 year olds, and then the four years olds. She became Director in 2005. Prior to coming to South Carolina she lived in El Salvador, Texas and Georgia. She is married with two adult children and three grandchildren.
